Don’t send them money, and let us know. We’ll never ask you to pay for anything outside of the Jungle Scout Market website, through email, or through a third party service website.
If you pay for your services outside of the Jungle Scout Market (for example, paypal or a bank transfer), you may have paid for a fraudulent service. In addition, the transaction will not be covered by our terms and we can no longer help in the event that the work you paid for is not delivered or there are issues with the transaction.
Report requests for offsite payment
If a Jungle Scout Market Freelancer on the Jungle Scout Market site asks you to pay off site or through another company, report it to us.
You won't receive a paper or PDF invoice from a freelancer asking for payment as all payments should be made through the Jungle Scout Market for your protection.
To report a message or email, send us an email with the the name of the freelancer and link to the service that you were trying to purchase.
Types of scams
Never share your email address before a transaction is accepted by the freelancer or transfer funds outside the Jungle Scout Market, and always carefully examine emails claiming to be from the Jungle Scout Market.
Examples of common scams include:
- Advance Fee or Deposit Scam: Someone asks for an advanced fee off site for a service that they provide and they never follow through with the service.
- Phishing Scam: Someone sends an email or link that looks like it's from the Jungle Scout Market or another trusted site. These messages are designed to trick you into providing confidential information such as passwords or other email addresses. Phishing messages may contain malware, which is malicious software that gains access to your computer to gather your personal information, including passwords.
Note: Any freelancer services that are paid for outside of the the Jungle Scout Market violate our Terms of Service. If we identify that a freelancer service was paid for through a third-party service such as Paypal or bank transfer, we may deactivate the accounts of the freelancer and the customer agreeing to pay off site.
